A prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Oyo State, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, has announced the cancellation of his annual Christmas party in the wake of the tragic stampede that occurred in Ibadan.

The party earlier scheduled for 25th,2024 at Woleseyi Campaign Office Takie, Ogbomoso was canceled to mourn the loss.

In a statement released on Friday, Wolekanle described the incident as deeply unfortunate and extended his prayers for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and the recovery of those injured.

While expressing his condolences, Wolekanle commiserated with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the families of the victims, urging them to find strength in these trying times.
