A life bencher , Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN has said woe betides lawyers who influence judgements

Olanipekun who frowned at the weakness of the  government institutions in Nigeria said it is quite sad that lawyers are found of influencing judgement to suit them.

The former Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the University of Ibadan said  lawyers and judges should be mindful of their actions and implications on the system “operate with the fear of God and have  a better country.”

Those in government should the right thing, they should lead with fear of God and obey his command.

He said this in a paper presented   at the retirement and 65th Birthday of  Dr Ganiyu Adetunji Adeniran at  the University of Ibadan on Saturday,

Speaking on a topic ” A man  and his worth: The imperative of  a Lasting Legacy” the Ikere born legal luminary. said it is when a man live a worthy live that he can bequeaths lasting legacy to life itself’

” People build nations and  when there is a functional system, the institutions will work fine and everyone will leave in peace in a better environment”

According to him , nothing  will work when we dont have institutions, we cannot build something on nothing , people build nations , Nigerians must be ready to ensure we have  a better country

In his opening remark, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan Senator Rashidi Ladoja said poltics is all about service and people should endeavours to serve the country with genuine intention and live a lasting legacies on the sand of time

The duo of Ladoja, Olanipekun, Abubakar  Shinkafi dynasty and others extols the virtues of Dr Gani Adeniran describing him as a complete omoluabi who cherises and add value to relationships.

The event also feature special prayers for Dr Adeniran and his family and book launch.

Eminent scholars, business monguls,professionals and others graced the event
