Wike Commiserates With Arise News Over Death of Anchor, Promises Justice

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Arise News anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, describing the incident as both tragic and painful.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike extended his condolences to the management and staff of Arise News, as well as to the family and friends of the deceased.

He assured that the police would conduct a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding her death and bring those responsible to justice.

According to the report from the FCTA Mandate Secretary on Health, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, Maduagwu was brought to Maitama General Hospital dead at about 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

Wike noted that a preliminary medical report would be made available to aid the investigation. He prayed for the repose of her soul and urged God to grant her family, colleagues, and loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
