Already former Governor Ekiti Segun Oni, Osun state , Olagunsoye Oyinlola,Senator Biodun Olujimi representing Ekiti South and Honourable Rita Orji; candidate of the PDP in the 2020 Ondo governorship election, Mr Eyitayo Jegede and others were in Ibadan for the meeting
Former Governor of Ekiti state Peter Ayodele Fayose ,Eddy Olafeso,Alhaji Adebisi Olopoenia Deji Doherty, Femi Babalola and others were absent
Governor Wike while addressing journalists at the Government House in Agodi said the meeting had to be aborted due to the absence of some persons for “logistics reasons” and stakeholders resolved to shift the meeting and give those absent another opportunity to reconsider their stance.
Yesterday night, we realized that because of some logistics reasons, some persons were not around and we didn’t want to have a meeting where we will have to reconvene so we said we need to give them the opportunity to come back and then meet. We had that understanding and said I should use that opportunity to make some inspection.
He maintained that the essence of the meeting is to have a peaceful and united South-West PDP, adding that efforts will continued to be geared to resolve the various interests and bring everybody on board.
Governor Makinde, while speaking in his brief remark said that the south west PDP will continue to pursue peace and never allow division.
“I only have one thing to say. We will continue to pursue peace in PDP South-West because we believe that South West is pivotal to where Nigeria is going to move to,” He stated.
While speaking with our correspondent, the media aide to Ayodele Fayose, Lere Olayinka said “My principal couldn’t attend the meeting owing to the fact that his loyalists had agreed not to attend the meeting in Ibadan.”
