Lawal Abass, a young entrepreneur and politician has said the involvement of youth in politics should be premises on the need to effect positive changes and
not for percuniary or selfish gain
Abass who is the initiator of Lawal Abass Against Marginality and Poverty LAMP, a non governmental organization aim at helping the younger generation said Politics should be for advancement of the society and not for personal gain
In a chat with National Insight recently the Electrical Engineer said he decided to join politic to effect positive changes in the society, “Obviously there are bad influence in the system but we cannot get to anywhere as a nation if we continue to fold our arms and allow them to dictate for us, all of us must be involved and our interest should be geuine”
He added that “I am not in politics because of my ambition, but primarily to encourage other young people like me to be involve and at the same time contribute my own quota to the development of my constituency and Nation at large
” We have heard stories about the better past of Nigeria, we need to create a better future that will make Nigeria a place of pride for us all and the generations unborn.
Lawal who hail from Idewure community in Ogo Oluwa local government area of Oyo state hinted that he has registered for membership All Progressives Congress APC and has been actively involved in the party affairs at the local level.
Speaking on LAMP, The Polythecnic Ibadan graduate said “my philosophy in life is when God bless you, bless others” Make people happy, the idea is to liberate, discover and develop talents, help the younger one to grow and assisting the aged ones.
