Oyo State commissioner Information for Culture and tourism Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun has said the government is poised to use culture and tourism to develop economy of the state and create jobs

Olatubosun while speaking with journalists at Ibikunle Day celebration where he was honoured with an award said Oyo state is blessed with a lot of tourism potentials that wil be utilized to boost the economy of the state

‘We have a robust programm on tourism and promotion of our culture, the government under the leadership of Engineer Oluseyi Makinde will ensure proper implementation of the polices and create infrastructure that will enhance culture and tourism

Olatubosun added that ” We will also ensure that some of our heritage sites are enlisted in the UNESCO heritage sites and with that more tourists will come and their coming will improve our economy.

” Very soon we will launch a platform that would be showcasing government activities promote documentary on our heroes and sites as well as promoting our cultural heritage sites.

He however commended the leadership and entire members of Ibikunle’s family for sustaining the legacies and using Ibikunle’s Day celebration to promote peace and unity and urge others to emulate them
