The State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Chief Isaac Ishola, has disclosed that the present administration in the State has keen interest in social economic development in waste Management Control and strategy to turn waste to wealth.

The Commissioner stated this during sensitization  and awareness programme on waste management control in Oyo town.‎

Ishola said, “Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements had being accepted all over the world because of its capacity and efficiency. Our arrangements is to‎ convert waste to wealth”.
‎
He said solid waste collector have been appointed to manage waste generated from Oyo town and convert it to wealth.

 

“We have moved to Oyo town, we are implementing Oyo State Government policy on Solid waste management, we have started in Ibadan, it is now  the turn of Oyo town , and it will go round each zones of the State. We have also sensitized  our people by moving round the town with public address vehicle to inform them properly about the programme” Ishola said.

 

In his remarks, the chairman Enviromental Services Mr laoye Oyeniyi said, necessary Operational Strategy have been put in place to manage the waste effectively in Oyo town.
