Hon Bisi Oluranti Oyewo Micheal, Chairperson ,Oyo state House of Assembly committee on Tourism has said that the legislative chamber will give necessary backing for tourism development in the state.

The lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency at the assembly said this at the unveiling of the Department of of Tourism Management Technology of the Polytechnic Ibadan.

Recalled that the Polytechnic Ibadan secured NBTE approval to commence National Diploma in Tourism and some other courses last year

Hon. Bisi Oluranti who hinted that part of the effort to ensure tourism development in the state is the creation of Tourism and culture ministry by Governor Makinde’s administration inorder to give adequate attention to the sector.

She added that apart from being a low hanging fruits in term of revenue drive , tourism can also boost creativity and generate employments for Indigenes

While commending the management of the Polytechnic ibadan for introducing the course, Hon Micheal urge them to let the curriculum covers all aspects of travel and tourism so as to brees professionals, in tour guiding, ticketing and others
