Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in London early Monday morning following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement on his Facebook page Shettima revealed that his visit was at the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He was accompanied by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
Upon arrival, the Vice President was received by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum.
Vice President Shettima is expected to accompany the remains of the late former President back to Nigeria for burial in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
Former President Buhari passed away in London after a prolonged illness.
