Two UI College of Medicine Staff, Others Test Positive To Covid-19 in Oyo As NCDC Confirms 8 New Cases in Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the state is now seven.

In a statement on Saturday night, the agency announced Eight new coronavirus cases in the country out of which four are in Oyo State.

The Statement read, “Eight new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 2 in FCT, 4 in Oyo, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Osun State

As at 10:40 pm 28th March there are 97 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death. “

Before the announcement of the new cases the number of confirmed case in the State was only three.

Two among the victims in Oyo include provost and deputy provost of the University of Ibadan, UI, College of Medicine, Professors Ezekiel Olapade-Olaopa and Obafunke Denloye

A breakdown of the case in the country according to the NCDC shows that Oyo State now has the third highest number of confirmed cases in the country behind only Lagos and FCT
