Two All Progressives Congress (APC) members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday announced their defection from the party.
The lawmakers are Babatunde Kolawole who represents Akoko North East/ West Federal Constituency of Ondo State and Mukaila Kazzim representing Abeokuta North/ Obafemi-Owode/ Odeda Federal Constituency of Ogun State.
They made their resignations known in separate letters to the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara who read the letters at plenary on Wednesday.
While Kolawole announced that he will be joining the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his counterpart, Kazzim, defected to Allied People’s Movement (APM).
In the letters, both lawmakers blame their defection on irreconcilable issues which they said is affecting the APC, especially in the recently concluded primaries.
