Hon Joshua Olagunju Ojo  has emerged the Speaker of Oyo state House of Assembly

He is succeeding late Michael Adeyemo who died on 27th April 2018.

Hon Akeem Ademola Is the new minority leader

At the sitting presided by the Deputy Speaker ,Hon Abdulwasil Musa Ojo, a former minority leader from Orire local government  defeated the deputy speaker Honourable Abdulwasi Musah and others.

Meanwhile, there was heavy secruity at the entrance of the House of Assembly, Apary from the lawmakers few members of the public and media were allowed in  to the Assembly complex.

Many people including journalists where presevented from entering the assembly premises , those who enter were thoroughly screened.

Insight  reporter was also not allowed by the police after checking the lists of media organization approved to cover the Assembly proceedings for the day.

When asked why, the officer said ” I am sorry your organization is not on the list of approved media  with me here and  only media organization on this list are allowed , that is the instruction for today may be another time ‘
