The ninth edition of the Tiger Ladies Open tagged: Restoration and scheduled for 26th to 28th February has attracted huge support from Ilaji Resort Ibadan by becoming the major sponsor of the event.
The Lady Captain of Tiger Golf Club, Sade Ajala has described the involvement of the hospitality firm as a positive development and a good omen for the game of golf and an assurance of a memorable Ladies Open.
The highlight of the golf event according to Sade Ajala will be the commissioning of a player’s shed constructed on hole four of the beautiful golf course of Tiger and was powered by Architect Kayode Fakunle.
“The event is scheduled to commence with a tournament for the caddies on Thursday 25th, this is to encourage our caddies so they can embrace the game and become good golfers”, Ajala noted.
Veteran and special category of ladies with handicap 29 to 36 will play on Friday 26th while men with handicap 0-28 will take to the golf course on Saturday as golfers could also practice after arriving and a cocktail will be held in the evening.
The ceremonial tee-off of the main tournament will be done by Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, LGAN President, Susan Cole-Kotas and South/West LGAN Vice President, Mrs. Chichi Charles Alamu by 9:00 am, while ladies will also play on Sunday 28th to determine the winner before the presentation of prizes in the evening.
This arrangement was done according to the lady captain to prevent course congestion in accordance with the covid19 protocols and adherence to other guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
