The Polytechnic, Ibadan has been awarded a Silverware by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB)for being the Second Best Polytechnic in Nigeria in the provision of access to higher education to persons with special needs.
The jamb Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede made the presentation in Abuja today (Monday, 25th September 2023).
The award was received on behalf of the Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan by the Institution’s Director Academic Planning And Control Unit,Office of the Rector Dr(Mrs) Taiwo Abodunwa
The JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede noted that persons with special needs are a vital part of the society and efforts must be made to take care of their academic needs.
He commended the tertiary institutions in the country for paying attention to the needs of disabled persons in their various institutions through the provision of enabling facilities for their academic needs.
Kaduna Polytechnic,kaduna came first while Kano State Polytechnic and Federal Polytechnic
Damaturu shared the third position.
Meanwhile, Rector of The Polytechnic,Ibadan Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi has been invited along with other heads of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria to the First National Conference On Equal Opportunity Of Access to Higher Education in Nigeria kicking off tomorrow September, 26th 2023 at the Ladi kwali hall, Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja.
The two day Conference will witness the unveiling of the roadmap for inclusive access to quality
higher education in Nigeria (2024-2028)
