As the naira and fuel scarcity bites harder on Nigerians, the People Democratic Party candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Chief Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has distributed food items worth millions of naira to residents of Ibadan.

This was part of the activities to round off the two-day free medical outreach organised by the senatorial candidate through his Tegbe Foundation, in partnership with an NGO, AOD Foundation.

The medical outreach, which held between Wednesday, February 8 and Thursday, February 9 at Orita Parde, Oke-Offa area of Ibadan, involved testing, free medications and follow-up treatment for no fewer than 1,000 residents, with five persons placed under hospital admission and their bills fully paid.

Tegbe noted that the non-availability of cash and petroleum products had brought lots of discomfort to Nigerians, with its attendant negative socio-economic impacts, especially on those dependent on daily income.

The senatorial candidate emphasised the importance of good health to the wellbeing and productivity of the populace.

The beneficiaries were full of praises for Tegbe for the gesture.

They described the senatorial candidate as having a track record of compassion for the people.

In his remarks, the youngest Mogaji in Ibadan land, Chief Olajuwon Subair (Mogaji Ile-nla), noted that the medical outreach was a
demonstration of Tegbe’s avowed commitment to the welfare of the people of Oyo South senatorial district and indeed, the entire state.

Subair said that Tegbe is a man well-loved by his people due to his commitment to their welfare and wellbeing.

He urged the people of the senatorial district to reciprocate the
gesture by voting en masse for Tegbe at the forthcoming general elections to deliver more dividends of democracy.
