Teacher’s Day: We’ll Continue to do Our Best to Enhance Teacher’s Welfare- Oyo Education Commissioner

Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu has felicitated the teachers in the state on the occasion of 2023 World Teachers’ Day, describing them as the most important personalities in the society.

Prof. Adelabu, in a statement issued and made available to journalists on Thursday in Ibadan, congratulated the teachers in Oyo state as they join their colleagues globally to celebrate this year’s World Teachers’ Day, which has” The Teachers We Need For The Education We Want : The Global Imperative To Reverse The Teacher Shortage” as its theme.

He stated further that the importance of teaching could be more appreciated with an understanding that through it, many other professions are born.

While commending the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in Oyo state for making the state proud and
sustaining the relationship between the body and the government, the commissioner pledged that the latter would continue to do its best to meet the welfare of those in the profession.

The number One Teacher in the state said that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration will never joke with their welfare, saying in line with this year’s team, the government will employ more teachers to fill vacancies in Primary Schools by next year.

He maintained that Governor Seyi Makinde led administration will continue to improve the welfare of teachers for the overall good of the state’s education sector.

Prof.Salihu, further commended the teachers for their commitment to teaching and learning in all public and private schools in the state, affirming that his boss, Governor Seyi Makinde placed a high premium on the welfare of teachers and other workers in the public service.

He said: As you celebrate this day, I congratulate you all, our dear teachers and look forward to a more rewarding engagement between the government and teachers in Oyo State”

By God’s grace, in the first quarter of next year, Governor Makinde led administration will employ more Teachers to the Primary Schools.
