The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of a schoolteacher, Stella Nwadigo, aged 45, for allegedly physically assaulting a 3-year-old pupil, Abayomi Michael, at Christ-Mitots School, Ikorodu, Lagos.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, the arrest was made on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, shortly after the incident was reported. The teacher allegedly inflicted physical harm on the young child during school hours.

Adejobi assured the public that the case would be thoroughly investigated, and justice will be served. “We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our schools. No act of child abuse will be tolerated,” he said.
