Southwest Agriculture Company Limited (SWAgCo), the agribusiness investment arm of Odu’a Investment Company Limited (OICL), has signed ₦10 billion worth of joint venture agreements with strategic partners to accelerate agro-industrial development across South-West Nigeria.

The agreements were signed on the sidelines of OICL’s 43rd Annual General Meeting held at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja. The partnerships involve four major entities: Starlink Global & Ideal Limited, PETAGULS Cultivars & Seedling Technologies Ltd, Foodlocker Limited, and the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF).

SWAgCo entered into a joint venture with Starlink Global & Ideal Limited and PETAGULS Cultivars for a five-year cocoa plantation project valued at ₦4.6 billion. The initiative will be sited at either the Odu’a Agro-Industrial Hub in Oke-Ako, Ekiti State or Akunnu, Ondo State, pending final land validation.

The project will begin with a 100-hectare pilot in its first year, scaling up to 1,000 hectares by Year 5. It is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, enhance rural livelihoods, and stimulate economic growth through food security and infrastructure development.
