Super Eagles Forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, has ended the English Premier League side’s, Nottingham Forest, 23-year goal drought.
Nottingham Forest’s record signing, Awoniyi scored against West Ham United at 45+2 minutes, just at the stroke of half-time.
Taiwo Awoniyi scored the club’s first goal back in the Premier League, as they took a 1-0 lead against West Ham on Sunday.
The Super Eagles striker became the club’s most expensive player this summer, after he sealed a move from Union Berlin.
Although he was left out for their first game at Newcastle United, Steve Cooper opted to start him against the Hammers.
Just before the break, Awoniyi was rewarded for his bustling runs, as he bumbled home a miscued effort from Jesse Lingard.
Toffolo was the creator, aiming at Lingard, but it was Awoniyi who applied the telling touch – the least he deserves following a vivacious first-half display
