Makinde Advises oyo Government.

Oyo state government has been advised to stop embarking on short term policies that are only meant to serve immediate political needs.

The PDP gubernatorial aspirant in the state, Engnr Seyi Makinde said this in a statement issued by the Seyi Makinde organisation and signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade.

According to the statement, instead of asking for free solar energy from America to power 120 secondary schools in the state ,government should have used that goodwill to ask for something more tangible and relevant.

” With more than 80 per cent of the schools in disrepair and without toilets , the solar energy will be non compliant for any meaningful use and if the non maintenance of the solar street lights along UCH- Government house, dandaru is anything to go by, the project will also be a waste.”

” Instead of engaging in elitist projects like Model schools that can catch the eyes, government should dedicate and spread the N2bn made from IGR every month to the education sector instead of going to America cap in hand to beg for solar energy that it cannot maintain.”

“Seyi Makinde also asked government not to play politics with the lives of our people by agreeing to cattle colonies and ranches in oyo state.”

He praised the position of Afenifere, Yoruba Council of Elders and the Oke Ogun Council of Elders in the issue
