Commendations are pouring in for Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi for the efforts he put in at the Red Chambers in pressing for the commencement of the Lagos-Ibadan Railway project.

The project was flagged off on Tuesday by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

Managing Director of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Engr. Fidet Okhiria, hailed Senator Akanbi who represents Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, when he visited him to convey the good news.
The NRC boss said that the senator has proven to be a mobilizer ,an achiever ,a good leader and a reliable representative not only to his constituency but to the country as a whole since the Railway project is going to be beneficial to the entire citizens of the country irrespective of geo-political zone.

He explained that the Railway project is a segment II of Lagos – Kano Railway modernization project.

Senator Akanbi, while hailing the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration on the project, said that it will close the gap on the country’s infrastructural project.

According to him, no country will develop commercially or industrially without a functioning rail system.
