Ogbomoso United Football Chairman Hon Akinwole Akinwole has been commended for his contributions to sport development especially
sponsoring of the just concluded under-15 football competition
Akinwole popularly known as Wolekanle is a philanthropist and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic party PDP in Oyo state
At the grandfinale of the competition which was held at Baptist theological seminary Ogbomoso, leadership of Ogbomoso football Association and coaches in the state described the gesture as a move that will have positive impact on sport development in Ogbomoso and Oyo state at large
Chairman Ogbomoso football Association,Mr omotosho ojewola, and coach Dapo Adelakun Second Vice Chairman Football Coaches Association in Oyo state said and the sponsohip is timely and properly cordinated
Ojewola in his remark said ” For quite sometime we have been looking for sponsorship of the under age competition but none was forthcoming but we appreciate Hon Akinwale for taking up the challenges and with this more talents will be develop and promoted to the next stage in their career.
He maintained that is only state government that do sponsor under age competition, even when they do we do recieve the information late but thank God for Wolekanle’s intervention, i want to implore him not to relent in his effort to help the young talents.

Coach Oladunni Oyekale who while responding to questions from journalist said Wolekanle’s commitments to football development is not just valued and appreciated but should be emulated
He said the performance of the young players was impressive and he believes thay very soon players from Ogbomoso will play for clubs at both local and international league.
Akinwale in a short interview with journalist at the end of the match said he sponsored the under-15 competition to encouray the young talents in the soccer and prevent them from falling into wrong hands
” Apart from being a football player myself, i belief that encouraging the younger generations to grow and explore the opportunities in their choosing career.
Taraa united defeated Eleven lions 3 goals to 2 to win the trophy with N100,000 while Iwoye team defeated Masifa team to win the third place .
