The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday told the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state Mr. Seyi Makinde to face the court case challenging his candidature in the coming polls.
APC called on Makinde and other candidates to remove the veil on their faces in order to see the true picture of things, saying that the electorates have shown that APC will continue to be their choice with the support daily being exhibited to the campaign train of the party and most importantly the heroic and warm reception accorded President Muhammad Buhari as well as other APC leaders during the presidential rally held at the Mapo hall on Saturday.
The APC Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde thanked the people of the state for the support and reception given to the party during its presidential rally.
Dr Olatunde said that APC was not surprised by Makinde’s tantrums, noting that it is in the character of PDP to spill ill-logic of issues.
The party explained that Makinde’s focus should be on the case at the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan challenging his emergence as the gubernatorial candidate of PDP instead of his constant ranting.
Dr Olatunde urged Makinde to reflect on his political career in order not to delve into a lifetime of political failure, stressing that it is not even certain if Makinde would fly the PDP flag in the March 2 gubernatorial election in the state.
The APC spokesman said, “Makinde is too inconsequential in the politics of the state but we need to counsel him to stop displaying his immaturity and inexperience in politics and governance. His candidature is being challenged and at the end of the day he might not even be the authentic candidate of the party.
“We urge him to reflect on his political career as he is threading the path of political oblivion and there will not be salvation when he gets to that stage. Makinde should note that he cannot replicate the manipulation he perpetrated during the primary election of PDP. He is currently being challenged at the court for the involvement of non-members of the PDP that were recruited to participate in the election that produced him as the PDP flag bearer,” Dr Olatunde pointed out.
