In a landmark development in political representation, Senator Yunus Akintunde has appointed twelve new Special Assistants across the eleven local governments in Oyo Central Senatorial District.

The announcement was conveyed through Senator Akintunde’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Kunle Olatunji, who noted that the appointments will further strengthen the Senator’s grassroots engagement and broaden the reach of his legislative activities.

The newly appointed aides, drawn from among former councillors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the district, were formally received and presented with their letters of appointment at a brief ceremony.

The event was attended by key party stakeholders, including the Senatorial Chairman, Dr. Joshua Oyebamiji, Alahja Juwon, Hon Waheed Akinleye, APC Party Chairman from Oluyole Local Government representing the eleven Local government chairmen; Hon Femi Akintunde and Hon Olabode, Community Relations Coordinators CRCs for Ibadan outer city Zone and Oyo Zone respectively, all previously appointed Special Assistants and Laison Officers working with Senator Akintunde and representatives of the Association of Former Councillors at the Senatorial District.

The atmosphere was filled with jubilation as news of the appointments spread across the Senatorial District.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senator Akintunde urged the new aides to work closely with party stakeholders and previously appointed assistants in advancing his vision of quality representation and impactful leadership.

The lawmaker also highlighted his recent facilitation of employment opportunities for twenty-five constituents of Oyo Central Senatorial District in various Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. Beneficiaries were engaged in institutions such as the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Inland Revenue Service (now National Revenue Service), and the Federal Fire Service.

“These appointments and employment opportunities are part of my promise to touch lives in meaningful ways. Those who have secured civil service positions will continue to build their careers, and I am grateful to Almighty God for using me as a vessel to serve humanity,” Senator Akintunde said.

He further assured constituents that more developmental initiatives and empowerment programmes will be rolled out in the months ahead, as part of his continuous drive to “do more” in fulfillment of his campaign promises.
