A leading governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has intensified statewide consultations ahead of his official declaration for the 2027 gubernatorial race under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

As part of his engagements, the lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District met with key stakeholders across Ogbomoso and Oyo federal constituencies to consolidate support within party structures.

During the visit, Alli paid homage to the Alaafin of Oyo, Akeem Owode, alongside Akeem Adeyemi and other influential political figures.
He also held strategic meetings with APC leadership in Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire local government areas, where he reportedly secured unanimous endorsement from party leaders and stakeholders across the three councils.

The consultations attracted prominent personalities, including Brimo Yusuff, Dayo Lawal, Peter Odetomi, Olamiju Alao-Akala, Segun Odebunmi and Jacob Bangboye, among others.

Others in attendance were Matthew Fashola, Gunju Ojo and Soji Adedeji, alongside ward executives, youth leaders and party faithful.
Alli was accompanied by notable allies such as Akinyemi Akinlabi, Dauda Abiola, Johnson Ayanleke, Tunji Olanipekun and Bayo Aderounmu.

The engagements, according to observers, reflect growing momentum and widespread backing for the aspirant, while also serving as a platform to articulate his vision, foster consensus and strengthen party unity ahead of the polls.

Meanwhile, Alli has announced that he will officially declare his governorship ambition on April 17 in Ibadan.

In a statement issued by his media office on Monday, the declaration ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Divisional Police Station Training Field, Yemetu, Ibadan, by 10:00 a.m.

The event is expected to draw a large gathering of party leaders, stakeholders, supporters and political observers from across the state and beyond, as the seasoned politician formally unveils his agenda.

Alli, a former Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, ex-Secretary to the Oyo State Government and former Chief of Staff to a past governor, is widely regarded as a grassroots mobiliser with extensive administrative and political experience.

Sources within his camp disclosed that the declaration would provide an opportunity to outline his development blueprint and rally party faithful ahead of what is anticipated to be a keenly contested governorship race.
Security and logistics arrangements have reportedly been put in place to ensure a smooth and hitch-free event, as anticipation continues to build across the state.
