President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has dismissed reports suggesting he is ill, stating categorically that he is “not sick but hale and hearty.”

In a statement shared via journalist Jackson Ude on social media, Akpabio described the claims about his health as false and urged the public to disregard them.

The Senate President clarified that he had travelled to Geneva for a parliamentary engagement and then proceeded to London, where he is currently staying.

“I am not sick. I am hale and hearty,” Akpabio said, in response to the growing speculation about his wellbeing.

The clarification comes amid viral posts online alleging he was battling an undisclosed illness. Akpabio assured Nigerians that he remains committed to his duties and will return to the country soon.
