Sen. Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has described the death of Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere, popularly called Baba Olowere as a loss of a true prophet of God.
Alli in a condolence message he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Thursday, said that the late Baba Olowere, a popular evangelist and founder of Christ Apostolic Church(CAC), Oke-Agbara, Asi Bodija, passed away on Wednesday at his Asi residence in Ibadan.
He was reported to have for over six decades, spearheaded the planting of several churches within the CAC mission, beginning with the CAC Oke-Imole, Agbowo, in 1978.
The lawmaker described late Olowere, the oldest prophet in the CAC family as a deep preacher, teacher and gospel evangelist who was greatly loved by all.
According to him, Baba Olowere was a resolute and dogged believer in God. Godly, humble, disciplined, contented and respected by all.”
Alli said that the late Baba Olowere was a worthy father, evangelist and popular prayer warrior, who never discriminated against anyone irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations.
He said that the late Baba Olowere’s earthly sojourn was to the glory of God and the blessing of humanity.
“His death is a huge loss to the people of Oyo State, particularly the Christian community. He has indeed left behind a shoe too big for others to wear.
“His legacies of philanthropy, orderly behaviour, respect for fellow human beings, culture of tolerance, contentment, discipline and ability to live above board will surely outlive him.
“I have no doubt that his affectionate love for mankind, dedication to God and quintessential lifestyle will grant him eternal rest, ” he said.
The lawmaker expressed condolences to his family, the CAC Worldwide and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
He prayed that Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest and give his families fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
