The founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has criticized activist and politician Omoyele Sowore over his recent comments describing President Bola Tinubu as a criminal, saying such a statement is “unacceptable” and unbecoming of a political actor.
In a statement personally signed by him and titled “Sowore’s Political Infancy and Moral Rough-Ride — That President Tinubu Is a Criminal Is Unacceptable,” Maharaj Ji said Sowore’s latest arrest should serve as an opportunity for him to learn lessons about the nature of leadership and politics in Nigeria.
According to the spiritual leader, it is wrong for Sowore to “emotionally engage” national issues without proper understanding of the complex forces influencing Nigeria’s political and economic state.
> “It is absolutely wrong to call the Head of State a criminal. Sowore has a case to answer,” Maharaj Ji stated.
“I have repeatedly urged Nigerians of Sowore’s emotional disposition to be more circumspect than reactionary to the goings-on in Nigeria.”
Maharaj Ji argued that all political actors in Nigeria are being manipulated by “European and Arab forces” bent on keeping the country unstable and underdeveloped. He maintained that Sowore’s approach to politics—marked by “childish verbal power”—has failed to win popular support, as reflected in his poor electoral performance.
He further faulted Sowore’s recent protests calling for the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, describing the move as contempt of court. He said the legal processes surrounding Kanu’s case are influenced by deeper international interests, particularly Britain and the United States, whom he accused of maintaining a “colonial grip” on Nigeria.
> “Nnamdi Kanu’s case is far bigger than Sowore’s embryonic capacity. Britain abhors the idea of rebelling against the tortuously extractive system it planted in Nigeria for its continuous enrichment,” he said.
Maharaj Ji emphasized that Nigeria’s problems are “more spiritual than physical” and urged Sowore to seek “Divine Knowledge” to understand the hidden global powers at play. He warned that calling the President a criminal without proof could attract legal consequences.
> “If Sowore is truly interested in rescuing Nigeria from rot and shackles, he should seek to be equipped with Divine Knowledge so that he can see and fight what is actually going on beyond noise and emotion,” he added.
Maharaj Ji concluded by reaffirming that Nigeria’s survival, despite international conspiracies, is due to spiritual intervention led by him and his devotees.
> “Nigeria has outlived the negative projections of the rampaging white man not by hate or violence, but through relentless engagement of the cosmic vibrations that determine the fate of man on earth,” he declared.
He ended the statement with a note of caution and advice to Sowore:
> “He should tell us why the President is a criminal to avoid being dealt with by the arms of the law as a deterrence to others who may disregard the rule of law.”
