The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun State Sector Command, has launched the 3rd edition of its annual publication, Osun Safety Gong Magazine, aimed at deepening public enlightenment and encouraging safer road usage among motorists.
The official launch took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at ADOLAK International Hotel & Suites, Osogbo, during the 2025 Town Hall Meeting with Stakeholders and Ember Months Road Safety Campaign Flag-Off.
Speaking at the event, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega (fsi), described the magazine—first unveiled in 2022—as an intellectual and operational publication designed to showcase collaborative efforts in safety promotion and highlight the Command’s partnership-driven achievements.
He expressed appreciation to the Chief Launcher, Alhaji (Hon.) Kazeem Kolapo Akinleye, Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Osun State, for his exemplary leadership and continued support for the FRSC’s vision of safe and sustainable mobility. He also acknowledged the contributions of His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, Owa Obokun Adimula and the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, alongside other dignitaries, government officials, FRSC officers (serving and retired), corporate organizations, and individuals who supported the production through interviews, advert placements, and logistics assistance.
In his remarks, Alhaji Akinleye described Osun Safety Gong as “an enduring chronicle of progress, innovation, and collaboration,” noting that the publication documents the Corps’ activities, promotes advocacy, and reflects the FRSC’s intellectual depth and public engagement.
He lauded the timing of the unveiling, coinciding with the 2025 Ember Months Campaign, which he said was strategic in reinforcing the message that road safety is a shared moral responsibility. He urged all stakeholders—government, private sector, and citizens—to recommit themselves to discipline and compliance with road safety regulations.
Performing the official launch, Akinleye commended the gallant officers and men of the FRSC for their courage and professionalism, describing their daily sacrifices as “the embodiment of patriotism.” He noted that the magazine’s unveiling is both a celebration of their service and a reaffirmation of collective dedication to continuous education and public enlightenment.
The publication was reviewed by Chief Route Commander Jude U. Odinfono, PhD, MISPON, Unit Commander of FRSC Gbongan Unit Command, and has since been widely distributed to stakeholders and members of the public to enhance safety awareness and responsible motoring culture.
