The remains of the late Rev. Adekunle Olaoluwa Obe, a revered clergyman, were laid to rest in Ibadan on Friday, August 1, 2025, as family, friends, and well-wishers from across the Christian community gathered to pay their last respects.

The burial service was held at the Restoration of God’s Glory Church International (RGGC), Odo Ona Kekere, Ibadan, Oyo State, while interment followed at the Power of God Evangelistic Ministries Grounds in Alata, Idi Ayunre area of Ibadan.

The event drew numerous dignitaries, including family members, former Bible school students, and ministry partners, many of whom paid glowing tributes to Rev. Obe’s selflessness, teachings, and enduring legacy.
In tributes shared to celebrate the life of the late Rector and founder of The Power of God Bible College & Seminary, family and friends echoed his immense influence, both in ministry and personal life.

In a heartfelt tribute, Rev. Obe’s eldest son, Rotimi Obe, reflected on his father’s life and ministry, describing him as a compassionate and loving man of God who embodied true fatherhood and spiritual leadership.
“As I reflect on your life and ministry, I am filled with gratitude for the impact you had on my life,” Rotimi said. “You were more than just a father to me; you were a mentor, a role model, and a friend. Your teachings and example have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am forever grateful.”
Dr. Paul Hylton, President of JCET Ministries USA and a close friend and partner in ministry, also paid tribute, describing Rev. Obe as a faithful servant, devoted friend, and champion of the gospel.
“Reverend Obe was a man of impeccable character, and his commitment to the gospel was unwavering,” Dr. Hylton noted. “He was a true friend and partner to JCET Ministries, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide future generations. We will carry his light and continue the race, knowing his impact will be felt for years to come.”
Another tribute came from Rev. Michael Owoeye of Christ Focus Christian Mission, Lagos, a former Bible school student of Rev. Obe. He described him as a man who lived a life full of kingdom service, passionately raising men and women for spiritual leadership.
Rev. Adekunle Obe is survived by his wife, Esther Itunu-Obe; children — Rotimi Obe, Ifeoluwa Adeyemo-Obe, and Aduramigba Obe — as well as grandchildren.
The burial ceremony also marked the 30th anniversary of the passing of Mrs. Aderonke Abiodun Obe, the late wife of Rev. Obe. She was fondly remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her lasting influence. Her children paid moving tributes to her love, guidance, and sacrifices, which, they said, will never be forgotten.
Prayers were offered by ministers of God for the family and for the sustenance of the legacy left behind by the Obe patriarchs.
