Chairman, Senate Services Committee, Sunday Karimi, has described as blatant lie and outright misinformation stories peddled by some highly compromised social media platforms that Senators at the ongoing Senate Retreat in Uyo have been left stranded and abandoned.

Speaking with the media at the ongoing retreat at the Four Point by Sheraton, Ikot Ekpene, the Kogi Federal lawmaker, said” we have read very spurious and false report in some online media platforms, purporting that Senators at the ongoing retreat have not been accommodated nor taken care of. That is not true. It is big fat lie.”

According to Karimi, ” No Senator is stranded as erroneously and mischievously peddled. We are all fine in Uyo and the Retreat is going on as planned. All of us are fine and no one is angry. We are having our fun as well as attending the various sessions of the retreat.”

“It is a cooked-up story intended to embarrass the leadership of the Senate by fifth columnists. Members of the public should please disregard this sponsored story as it exists only in the minds of their sponsors and purveyors.

“We are here for serious business and no blackmail and lies would stop the forward looking 10th Senate under the leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio from doing what is in the best interest of Nigerians,” he declared.
