Some part of Ikire community, the headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State was on Saturday morning submerged by flood.

The flash flood which ravaged the community  wrecked  havo as  properties were destroyed while roads in the community were taken over by flood.

Affected areas in the community include Mateba, Naira and Kobo, Atoto, Fulani, Osun State University Road, Oja-Ale, Owode and Oja-Ale, among others.

A resident , Hakeem Salawu said the heavy rain started around 7:56 am on Saturday and lasted for about four hours, leading to the flash flood.

Residents who own houses and shops were sacked from their properties as the areas were submerged by flood.

Travelers plying the Gbongan/Ikire/Ibadan express road were also stranded as the flood prevented them from accessing the road
