Residents Lament Poor State of Old Akufo Road, Wants Govt to Fix Collapse Bridge

Resident of Adeosun , Awotan and other communities in Ido local government area of Oyo state have lamented the poor state of old Akufo road and other linking road in Apete area of the state

The attributed prolong traffic jam on the road as a poor road network and the poor state of the existing roads in the communities

Some of the resident posits that if the linking roads are in good condition there will be less traffic on the main road as people will make use of other routes.

Although they commended Engineer Seyi Makinde’s led administration for the construction of the Apete- Akufo road, they also plead with the governor and the Ido local government chairman to helf fix roads linking the communties

A visit to the old Akufo road revealed the deplorable condition of the road and the collapse bridge, students and traders who do passed the road have difficulties in crossing to the other part of the road as the brige is already a dead trap

An elderly member of the landlord association, Chief Majekodunmi told our reporter that the communities have been making efforts to fix the bridge but it is beyond what we can do for now, before now we have fixed a pedestrian bridge to ensure easy passage for our peoppe but now the iron bridge has also caved in and it requires a lot of money to fix

” As a community we can only appeal to government to belp us fix the bridge and the road so that our children and other members of the Communities who have to crosss the bride can easily pass.”
