Some people suspected to be yoruba nation agitators on Sunday morning, hijacked operations of Radio Nigeria, Amuludun FM 99.1 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The agitators besieged the station and hijacked the programm around 5:00 am
According to report obtained from the station, the agitators forced their way into the studio where they started to speak on the need for Yoruba Nation for about an hour before they wére demobilized by security officer
Four people including 3 men and one woman have been arrested by the police.
The radio station, which was located at J&P Bus-stop, Moniya in Ibadan, Akinyele Local Government Area of the state, was established on October 10, 2007, and commenced transmission in pure and undiluted Yoruba language on October 22, the same year.
The General Manager of the station, Mr. Stephen Agbaje, confirmed the development to DAILY POST but stressed that the situation has been brought under control by the security agencies.
He added that some arrests have been made.
“Some group of agitators came around in the night, and took over the station, but the situation has been brought under control by the security agents. They were able to recover the station, and some arrests have been made,” he said
