The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 78 senior police officers, including 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) promoted to ACPs.

The promotions were finalized during the second Plenary Meeting of the PSC, held on Tuesday, December 17, according to a statement by PSC spokesman Ikechukwu Ani.

This development follows the commission’s earlier approval on Monday, December 16, for the promotion of 11 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) and 16 Deputy Commissioners to substantive CPs.

Notable among the newly promoted officers is Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, previously Deputy Commissioner of Administration and Finance in Jigawa State Command. Elleman, who also served as Head of the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit and Deputy Commissioner of Operations at Zone 7, Abuja, is now a substantive Commissioner.
