Two prophets have been napped by police in Abeokuta, Ogun state for killing a woman and mutilated her body for ritual purpose.

The suspects, Olusola Akindele, of no fixed church, and Ayodele Bamiduro of the Lion of Judah Church of Christ, 13, Robiyan Avenue, Robiyan, near Ijoko, were arrested following a technical intelligence-based investigation on the dastardly killing.

According to the police, the 40-year old victim, simply identified as Iya Aanu, had on July 30, 2018, visited Olusola, who she had been dating for two years, in his Assess Road residence at Mosefejo.

Olusola, investigation revealed, once again, dragged her lifeless body to the bathroom and severed her head and hands, and later dumped the remains in an uncompleted building behind his residence.

The assailant, Crimepuzzle further gathered, took the severed head and hands to his accoplices’ Lion of Judah Church of Christ on 13, Robiyan Avenue, where he buried them.

The ugly incident, which attracted the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu Ahmed and some of his principal officers to the community, was greeted with mammoth crowd who came to catch a glimpse of the ritual murderers.

Disclosing how the suspects were arrested, CP Iliyasu, at a press conference held at the scene of crime at Mosefejo, this afternoon, who described the incident as a very sympathetic case of conspiracy and ritual murder by so-called men of God, stated that on August 10, 2018, a complaint was lodged at the Agbado Police Divisional Headquarters by the Baale of Igbore Robiyan to the effect that a headless, decomposition body of a woman was found in an uncompleted building within the community.

According to the police boss, “upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Agbado, CSP Olatunji Omonijo, was given a matching order by myself to unravel the mystery behind the killing and fish out the perpetrators of heinous crime within shortest possible time

“In compliance with the directives given to him, the DPO went on a technical intelligence-based investigation and succeeded in arresting one Olusola Akindele, 42 and Ayodele Bamiduro, 42.

“On interrogation, Olusola Akindele, who claimed to be a prophet in a church, confessed that the victim was his woman friend, who he simply identified as Iya Aanu. He stated further that they had been dating and hibernating for two years. On the fateful day, the deceased came to visit him, as usual, and after they made love, and the woman was relaxing, the so-called prophet surreptitiously brought out a very big clog that looked like a pestle with which he smashed the woman’s head”, the CP narrated.

The police boss added that, Olusola later cut off the head and hands of the unfortunate woman before throwing her remains in an uncompleted building behind his house.

He said, “The severed head and hands of the victim were buried at the back of Lion of Judah Church of Christ, situated in another area within this vicinity at 13, Robiyan Avenue, belonging to Ayodele Bamiduro”

Describing the incident as the highest peak of wickedness, barbaric and man inhumanity to man, CP Iliyasu assured the public that on completion of forensic investigation, the suspects would be made to face the full wrath of the law by being arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction, even as he advised the public to be discretional with whom they associate and always notify one person, at least, wherever they were going, to ensure their security and safety.

The CP also charged the general public to always be vigilant and mindful of happenings around them and those they associate with, while seeking their continued support for the police by availing them with information that would help to nip crime in the bud.
