Poly Student Seeks Court’s Forgiveness For Attacking Man With Axe

Sunday Olayinka, a student of The Polytechnic, Ibadan on Thursday begged for  forgiveness for attempting to attack another person with an axe

The 20 year old accused,was arraigned on a two courts charge of conspiracy and going armed  with an axe with charge‎ number / 594c/2018.

Olayinka who pleaded not  guilty  told the court that Olayinka  told the court that the act was not intentional “I was drunk and so I was not conscious of my action.” he said.

He however prayed that the court should temper Justice with mercy

The prosecutor, Mr.Amos Adewale   told the court that the accused on the ‎17th  of April   at about 10pm at Alafia street  Mokola Ibadan in Ibadan magistrate did conspired together to commit felony to wit going armed with an axe

Adewale said Olayinka and others at large‎ at the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District did go armed with an axe in public unlawfully  in such a manner as to cause terror to one Mr.Musa Sheu

‎Prosecutor said the offence was  contrary to and punishable under Section 516 and 80 of the criminal code Cap38 vol.II Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000

In her ruling  the chief magistrate Mrs Ogunbona gave the accused bail condition of N10,000 with one surety gainfully employed and thereafter adjourned the case till 28th of May, 2018
