The Osun State Police Command has paraded three suspects linked to the gruesome killing of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi, and her 12-year-old daughter, Sewa, whose bodies were found mutilated in different locations across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Ibrahim Gotan, who briefed journalists on Wednesday in Osogbo, said the breakthrough followed sustained intelligence operations ordered by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to clamp down on violent crimes nationwide.
The case began on November 10, 2025, after a missing-person report was filed for Fajemirokun Victor, a businessman from Osogbo. However, investigations later revealed that Victor—initially believed to be missing—was the mastermind behind the murder of his lover, Funmilayo, and her daughter. The victims had earlier been reported missing from their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate in Abeokuta on November 2.
Victor’s Toyota Corolla was found abandoned along the Ibadan/Ife Expressway, raising suspicion. Further intelligence-led investigations led to the arrest of an herbalist, Gboyega Daramola, a.k.a. Aberefa, on November 16. He confessed that Victor brought the victims to him for money rituals and named three accomplices—Sunday James, Kehinde, and Idowu.
On November 17, Daramola led detectives to Esa-Odo Dam, where the corpse of Funmilayo was discovered, with vital body parts including her head, breasts, hands and private parts missing. On November 20, the police arrested Sunday James in Ekiti State. He confessed to killing both mother and daughter on Daramola’s orders and led investigators to where the child’s remains were dumped, also without vital organs.
The suspects were subsequently paraded at the Command Headquarters in Osogbo, where Victor explained why he lured the victims to their deaths. He claimed a cleric had told him Funmilayo had “used his glory” and was responsible for his misfortunes. Seeking spiritual cleansing, he contacted Daramola, whom he met on TikTok.
Victor admitted accompanying Funmilayo and her daughter to Ijebu-Jesa under the pretext of spiritual cleansing, where he watched as the killers took them to the bush. “I knew they were going to kill her. I never knew they harvested their organs. I only heard that on the news,” he said.
One of the killers, Sunday James, also confessed to slitting their throats on the instructions of his boss, Daramola, adding that he acted under threats.
On his part, Daramola denied being present at the killing site but admitted that Victor brought the victims to him.
Following the murders, Victor fled Nigeria but was tracked to Ghana through INTERPOL assistance and repatriated to Nigeria. He is currently in police custody.
CP Gotan condemned the killings as “disturbing and barbaric,” stating that the police command remains committed to dismantling criminal networks with a “no retreat, no surrender” approach. He vowed that all suspects still at large would be apprehended and that those arrested would be charged to court at the completion of investigations.
He urged parents and guardians to monitor their children closely and discourage them from cultism, ritual practices, and other criminal associations.
