Police Detain Suspected Kidnappers Rescued From Angry Mob In Ibadan

Operatives of Oyo state Police Command on sunday rescued two suspected kidnappers from being lynched by the people in Ibadan

Kabiru Salam ‘m’ aged 32 and Lukman Adisa ‘m’ who are now in detention were said to be allegedly attempting to abduct a 9 year old female, “Ope” on her way to church around Alakia Adelubi axis.

The Command’s PRO Adewale Osifeso told journalist that the On Sunday 20/03/2020 at about 0920HRS, operatives of the Command on Intelligence led surveillance and patrol around Alakia Adelubi axis, Ibadan responded to a distress call regarding the execution of Jungle justice on the duo of Kabiru Salam ‘m’ aged 32 and Lukman Adisa ‘m’ for allegedly attempting to abduct a 9 year old female, “Ope” on her way to church.

According to him , “Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was in the company of her mother, one Afolabi Modupe ‘F’ and other siblings when the two suspects attempted seizing her from her Mother’s grip.

The suspects who are now in Police custody were first taken for immediate medical attention.

While investigations into the matter has immediately commenced. The Commissioner has appealed to the citizenry against taking laws into their hands with the assurances of a diligent and thorough investigation into the incident.
