The Nigeria Police Force has successfully arrested two suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of a Chinese national, Mr. Chen Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd., Ogere, Ogun State.
The arrests were the result of a meticulously coordinated, intelligence-led operation involving multiple units across state lines.
Mr. Wang was found dead in his office on January 12, 2025, with fatal stab wounds to the chest. The Ogun State Police Command launched an immediate investigation after receiving a distress call regarding the discovery of his body.
Following directives from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) was deployed to support the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, in unraveling the case.
Investigations revealed that two factory workers, suspected to be romantically involved, exploited a reduced workforce situation on the day of the incident. While on overtime duty, they allegedly disabled the company’s security system, gained unlawful access to Mr. Wang’s office, and fatally attacked him. After the murder, they stole keys to his residence, burgled the premises, and fled the state with stolen money.
Acting on weeks of technical surveillance, digital forensics, and human intelligence, police operatives tracked the suspects to Jos, Plateau State. On July 14, 2025, the duo—identified as Yunusa Abdullahi (25, from Borno State) and Peace Keno Danlami (20, from Taraba State)—were arrested while hiding under false identities.
The Inspector General of Police lauded the efforts of the Ogun State Police Command, the Force Technical Intelligence Unit, and all officers involved in the operation for their professionalism and dedication to justice. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting all residents, citizens, and foreign nationals through proactive and precision-led policing.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
