Police Arrest 11 Suspects as Makinde Berates Ajimobi Over Insecurity in Oyo state

Oyo state police command a on Sunday said 11 People and their leaders have been arrested in connection with the arsonists attack on Idi Arere area of Ibadan.

The command’s Public Relation Officer Adekunle Ajisebutu who confirmed the incident said normalcy has been restored at the affected area and the culprits will be charged to courts after thorough investigation

Meanwhile the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Oyo state Engr Seyi Makinde has urged the governor of Oyo State to stop the persistent area boys clashes which often lead to destruction of Lives and properties.

He made this known in a release signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade while reacting to avoidable mayhem in recent times particularly those that occurred in both Oja-‘gbo and idi-arere areas of Ibadan Northeast and Ibadan Southeast few days ago

He said it is so sad that despite huge amount of money claimed to have been spent by this government in the last 8years and the recent levies on security government has not been able to tame the bloodletting occasioned by area boys clashes which has characterised this regime especially in the last few years.

He commiserated with the people who have been injured or lost their valuables to the clashes to remain calm.

He admonished people of Ibadanland, particularly the affected local governments who have been living in fear and anxiety to take solace in the fact that a new dawn is close by when such occurrence will be tackled pro actively
