The historic Igasi Kingdom in Akoko, Ondo State, is preparing for a grand cultural celebration as renowned pharmacist and community leader, Pharm. Oyedapo Idowu, is set to receive the prestigious chieftaincy title of Otunba of Igasi.

The honour, to be conferred by the Oloje-in-Council under the authority of His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Adeniji Mathew Adeleye, recognises Idowu’s notable contributions to community development, humanitarian service, and leadership within and beyond the region.

According to the palace announcement, the conferment ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 29th November 2025, at the palace of the monarch in Akoko, Ondo State. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. and is expected to draw traditional rulers, dignitaries, community stakeholders, and well-wishers from across the country.

As part of the celebration, guests will also be treated to an entertainment reception on Sunday, 30th November 2025, at Marchforte Courtyard Hotel & Suites, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
