The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has announced a 40-day national prayer, fasting, and praise program to seek divine intervention in the affairs of the nation.
The exercise will commence on Monday, January 6, 2025, and end on Friday, February 14, 2025, culminating in the PFN’s 18th Biennial Conference scheduled to hold in Abuja from February 11 to 14, 2025.
According to a statement from the PFN’s National Secretariat, the spiritual exercise was necessitated by the challenging situation in the country and the need for God’s mercy and guidance. “Having prayerfully considered the general situation of our nation and the efforts of our leaders to make life better, it is clear that we need urgent divine intervention,” the statement read.
The 40-day program, coordinated by PFN’s Directorate of Intercession and Prayer under Rev. Dr. Mercy Ezekiel, will involve believers from all states across the country, with each state allocated a specific day for focused fasting and prayer. A detailed prayer guide has also been provided to ensure uniformity in the exercise.
The PFN Biennial Conference, themed “The Rebirth of a Great Nation”, will be held at the Glory Dome of Dunamis Christian Center in Abuja. Preceding the conference, a national colloquium will take place on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Yaradua Conference Centre, Abuja. The PFN cited Isaiah 66:8 and 2 Chronicles 7:14 as the guiding scriptures for the exercise, expressing faith in God’s promise to heal and restore the nation.
Bishop Dr. Francis Wale Oke, President of PFN, urged all Nigerians to participate in the program, emphasizing that sincere repentance and prayer can lead to a national rebirth. “Our God shall be merciful to us. He shall hear our prayer, heal our land, and make all things new for Nigerians,” he said.
The PFN concluded by wishing Nigerians a blessed 2025 and calling for unity in seeking God’s face for the nation’s progress.
