PDP Principal Officers/Working Committee In Ibadan South East LG Drum Support for Ige

The ambition of Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige to contest for the House of Representatives election to represent the Ibadan South East and Ibadan North East Federal constituency under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) received another blessing yesterday as the party’s principal officers and working committee in Ibadan South East Local Government area unanimously assured him of their support towards actualising his ambition to represent the said federal constituency at the green chamber come 2023.

This was revealed when he met with the said party’s principal officers and working committee in the said local government at the residence of the PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja at Felele, Ibadan in continuation of his consultation and visitation with leaders and stakeholders ahead of the party primary election.

Speaking at the meeting which was well attended by all the principal officers and working committee at the wards and local level,the party Chairman, Engr Sulaiman Adesina (a.k.a. World Best) said Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige was the first aspirant that met with the party executives to notify them of his intention, sought their blessings and support towards actualising it.

He disclosed that since then, other aspirants have also been coming for the same purpose virtually every week.

Engr Adesina who described Hon.Ige as one of the best politicians that the party can put forward for the election, hinted that his candidacy will no doubt give the party, PDP, less stress during the campaign for the general election because of his antecedents, exposure and experience as a grassroot politician.

He assured that the party will ensure level play ground for all the aspirants seeking political elections during the party primary election to pick its candidates.

Also speaking at the meeting Hon. Bimbo Adepoju who is the Supervisory Councillor for Works, Ibadan South East Local Government further reiterated the fact that it was he alongside other party stalwarts that asked Hon. Ige to come and contest having proved himself as a politician that knows the nitty-gritty of politics.

He stressed further that though he once contested chairmanship position with Hon. Ige, he had to pitch his tent with him and support his aspirations having been tested, trusted and proved to be a reliable personality in all the political offices he has held so far.

According to him, “Ademola Ige is somebody who knows what is due to the party men and give it to them; he knows what is due to the electorates and when to give it to them. Above all, he is humane, passionate and makes welfare of others his utmost priority. So supporting somebody like him is not and cannot be a mistake. He is loved by all and everywhere we go, it is the shout of Ige Again that can do it. He is well loved by the electorates and this is the kind of person that the electorates are expecting our party to present for them.” Hon. Bimbo enthused.

Earlier, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige had told the party officers and working committee present, that he came to inform them officially of his aspiration to contest for the federal House of Representatives to represent the Ibadan South East and Ibadan North East Federal constituency in the 2023 general elections.

The ex-lawmaker promised that if given the opportunity, he would ensure that real dividends of democracy is brought to the doorstep of every individual in his constituency.

Prior to today’s meeting, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige had met with the ward chairmen, local government executives, religious and community leaders, students and youth bodies, various associations and others to intimate them of his intention which is being accepted and blessed by the aforementioned individuals and associations.
