The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of the screening exercise for aspirants ahead of its 2025 Elective National Convention.

The screening, which was initially scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, has been put on hold due to what the party described as “unforeseen circumstances.”

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday, October 27, 2025, by the Chairman of the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) and Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

According to the statement, a new date for the screening exercise will be announced soon. The NCOC also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the postponement.

“All aspirants and members of our great party should take note of this development and be guided accordingly,” the committee stated.

Governor Fintiri reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to conducting a credible and hitch-free 2025 Elective National Convention, which will take place from Saturday, November 15, to Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The PDP’s 2025 convention is expected to produce new members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
