Hon Sulaimon Ariyibi, a serving member of lbadan South east legislative arms and four members of the Peoples Democratic Party were killed during the party’s rally in Ibadan South East.

Also Hon Abass Adigun Agboworin, federal lawmaker representing Ibada. South East/North East Federal Constituency, Hon. Omikunle Olayinka, Hon. Opeyemi Akande Alabamausa, Hon Akeem Ige and other party leaders escaped attack during the rally.

The lawmaker lead Ibadan South-East LG PDP rally which started at around 10am in the morning from Afolabi Store Moved to Oja’ba – Beere to Oranyan to Labo and Orita-Aperin and Muslim from To Owode Junction

Eye witnessed report that the Apc thugs allegedly attack the people when the rally train stormed Ibadan South-East Apc LG office.

But a chieftain of the APC who dont want his name in print said it was the PDP members who attacked their Party secretariat at Ile tuntun, adding that many APC members were also injured and vehicles vandalized during the attack

Addressing journalists at the state Hospital, Adeoyo, where the bodies of the deceased were taken by PDP members, the serving federal lawmaker representing Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency at the national assembly, Hon. Abass Adigun popularly known as Agboworin described the incident as tragic and shocking.

According to the lawmaker who submitted that he was the target of the assailants due to the inclusive election in his federal constituency, alongside PDP supporters were on a final lap of the party’s campaign trail ahead of Saturday’s election round Ibadan South East local government.

He called on the police to carry out a thorough investigation in order to bring culprits to justice while alleging that Oyo state chapter of APC has taken the coming election as a do or die affairs.

Confirming the development, the Oyo state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Adewale Osifeso told that investigation has commenced immediately and further updates will be provided in due time.
