An association of Panegyric Chanters in Oyo State has added its voice to the mounting calls for Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, a prominent businessman and philanthropist, to contest the gubernatorial election in 2027.
The Panegyric Chanters, known for their preservation of Yoruba traditions, hailed Sanusi as a visionary and compassionate leader, urging him to heed the call of the people and contest the election.
Chief Sanusi, as the CEO of Ilaji Hotel & Sports Resorts and the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, has a track record of creating jobs, promoting Yoruba culture, and contributing to the development of the state’s economy.
These qualities, many believe, make him a formidable candidate for the gubernatorial race in 2027.
While Chief Sanusi has not yet officially declared his intention to contest the election, many political analysts believe that his appointment as the Patron of the Panegyric Chanters is a significant step in that direction.
“The next governor must be someone who can create jobs, improve security, and provide quality education. That’s what the people of Oyo State deserve,” the association said.
