His words: “This is OYRTMA and the main aim of our men is to keep the road users, motorists and the pedestrian safe. Today, we are having the first of its kind capacity building for the commanders of OYRTMA, as approved by Governor Makinde.

“You will recall that at the beginning of the year, he spoke clearly for his support towards ensuring that civil servants and those who work within the state have the opportunity to improve themselves through trainings and workshops like this. And we as the managers of the road, we feel there is a need for us to educate ourselves more for better service delivery. We spoke to His Excellency and he approved this exercise. So, we use this opportunity to thank him.

“We invited our sister agency, the FRSC, because we know they have been on the ground for many years and they have more experience than us, with which they cover the country. Synergizing and understanding issues and better management of traffic within the state will enhance our job hence the need to build capacity and that is why we are here today.

“All our commanders are graduates and well-educated. I believe very strongly, looking at the content of today’s workshop, they will be well-positioned. They will be better informed to relate with the members of the public with regards to road and traffic management and in terms of rescue. Having capacity building like this will not only enhance their knowledge, but also help society and the state. it will give them more strength mentally and make them do what they are expected to do per time.”

On his part, the General Manager of the agency, Adeoye Ayoade stated that the capacity workshop was a giant stride in the annals of Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority.

According to Adeoye: “This is another giant stride in the annals of OYRTMA and all praises to God who gave us the opportunity to be here this morning.

“I want to also appreciate our chairman for his unrelenting efforts to ensure that the men and officers of the agency are equipped with the modern traffic management techniques, which has afforded us the training of today.

“We want to also appreciate and thank the Sector Commander of FRSC, Oyo State, for the opportunity granted unto us in this agency.
