Times change but principles are constant. Governance is the most fundamental instrument with which societal architecture is configured such that a balance is struck between the life enjoyed by the haves and the have-nots.

The only way to ensure this egalitarian principle is actualised is to put men and women of probity into positions of influence such as the governorship of this pace setting state.

The mistake is made when money distributing politicians approach the people during electioneering campaigns with paltry sums to sell their destiny. Once such contract is struck by these tricksters what happens next is they go the whole hog to find people of cheap value at the centre as collaborators. With these people of shady characters parading our polity as saints they unleash hardship on society. People who should call them to order have been bought, so society is left at the mercy of these poitical carpetbaggers for the next 4 or 8 years.

Oyo State is lucky that some of us steeped in the waters of the core progressive political thinking are still around. From Obafemi Awolowo to his direct disciples like Bola Ige we have our professional callings in which we have proven our mettles. Some of us have more than 3 professional addresses in which we are doing well. Politics to us is an occupation. Look around you, the people who have turned politics to a profession (which it is not) are the ones emptying our treasuries in cohort with some others.
The resultant effect is that our public system is upside down. Wrong policies are designed to favour graft and personal aggrandizement. Companies are folding up in droves. The naira is daily losing its value against the international currencies and the multi national companies are relocating to economically friendly Nations in the subregion.
Now we graduate thousands of skilled individuals without jobs. We have these army of jobless youths that are daily taking to crime because of badly designed and executed policies.
I am Adeniyi Akintola, SAN and I am offering myself for the service of my people.
I hail from Ido local government and my great grandfather is Okubiyi, the grand son of Balogun Ibikunle whose palace is at Ayeye area in Ibadan North West.
Every genuine Ibadan man has two addresses. One for the city and the other a farmstead. Our founding fathers are not only warriors, they were prosperous farmers.

We have upheld the two heritages. We are progressing professionals and social fighters for a society based on the principles of equity.

APC is supposed to be a party for progressives but unfortunately it has been hijacked by the reactionaries who have no defined direction but always aping and poorly executing carefully thought out progressive ideas. If we offer “free education”.They come out to say we’ll offer “free qualitative education”.At the end of the day, all the allocated funds find ways into individual pockets.

Let me at this juncture tell you that I and my colleagues intend to radicalize development using what we have in the state in agricultural chain and ICT. We will also focus intense energy on technical education and science. Dwell seriously on improving primary education in Yoruba language and teach English as what it is, a second language which is what helped our generation. If education in the first language is sound. The ability to think in that language is enhanced and this will create an opportunity for our institutions of learning to develop meta language for terminologies in all subjects to improve the prospect of further internationalising the language.

History helps to put in perspective the efforts of our ancestors in preserving the knowledge of where we are coming from, where we currently are and chart a course for where we’re going. So we will elevate the study of the beautiful history of the Yoruba people and our relationship with the surrounding neighbours. We will also encourage our Yoruba neighbours through DAWN Commission to invest in this direction to prevent the lurking danger of cultural annihilation.

Central to development is power. If we realistically intend to develop on all fronts, then we must find a solution to the problem of epileptic power supply.

The state has the capability to generate and market excess power to leapfrog our economy to the next level. We do have Yoruba minions working with our enemies to draw us back but we will March on any which way to achieve our aims and liberate our people. Hard work has it’s rewards, once our children are absorbed back into gainful employment. Fraudsterism will crash. The temptation to go into drug addiction borne out of the frustration of joblessness will be wiped away. We will become a productive economy from a monthly allocation economy.

Moving from allocation mentality to production will kill the freeloading attitude of some individuals within the populace and thus push society forward from the malaise of over dependence on government.

A less dependent population is needless to say an asset to the economy.
Government is able to plan with freed funds for adequate public oriented infrastructure and life generally runs seemlessly.

This is the tip of the iceberg. We have other ideas carefully thought out to lift our people away from poverty. But I need your support dear compatriots to achieve the lofty ideas. If you vote for me you’re voting for a workable forward propulsion realistically achievable within the time allowed for cadenced governance in our Great country. Let your name be written in gold that you have joined hands in making Akintola SAN the next governor of Our pace setting state. I pledge my loyalty to you and our people and by this, promise that when the deed is done, we shall all be beneficiaries of the Samaritan-plenty to come on all fronts. May God bless you, bless our great state and bless the federal republic of Nigeria.
