Oyo State Has Lost a Worthy Son, Oduyoye Mourns Gen.Muraina

Special Adviser on Strategy and Political Matters to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, Hon. Babatunde Oduyoye, has mourned the death of the president of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Major-General Abdullahi Muraina (retd).

Oduyoye, who described Muraina as a worthy son of Ibadan, noted that his death in Dubai was a huge loss to Oyo State and Nigeria.

The former two-term member of the House of Representatives and Minority Whip of the Alliance for Democracy in the House, commiserated with the family of the late military chief on behalf of the Oyo State Government, praying to God to grant repose to the soul of the General.

Oduyoye expressed heartfelt condolences to the wife of the deceased, his friends and Ibadanland.

He said: “The news of the demise of our brother and friend, General Abdullahi Muraina, in Dubai, comes to everyone as a shock.

“His death is a huge loss to Oyo State, because General Muraina was a worthy son of the state and an individual who added great values to the society.

“As a military man, he served his country meritoriously, as a business owner, he contributed to the development of Ibadanland and as a noble son of the soil, General Muraina lived a life worthy of emulation.

“This death is painful but we submit to the will of God and pray to Him to grant repose to his soul and grant his friends, family members the fortitude to bear the loss.”
